Pheim Unit Trusts Berhad (PUTB) started its operation in April 2001. We are a Unit Trust Management Company approved by the Securities Commission, and a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Pheim Asset Management Sdn Bhd (PAMSB). PAMSB was founded by Dr Tan Chong Koay and began its operation on 4 January 1994, is one of the maiden asset management companies in Malaysia when the asset management industry was first liberalised. PAMSB is licenced under the Capital Markets and Services Act, 2007 and its clientele comprises high net worth individuals, pension funds, corporate and government bodies.

The main activities of PUTB are to offer, manage and market unit trust funds. PUTB has launched 3 unit trust funds on 28 January 2002 and subsequently launched another 2 unit trust funds on 30 June 2006 and 1 November 2006, respectively.

As at 31 December 2018, PUTB manages five (5) unit trust funds amounting to approximately RM120 million.  The funds are:

  1. Pheim Emerging Companies Balanced Fund (balanced fund)
  2. Dana Makmur Pheim (balanced fund – Islamic/Shariah)
  3. Pheim Income Fund (bond fund)
  4. Pheim Asia Ex-Japan Fund (equity fund)
  5. Pheim Asia Ex-Japan Islamic Fund (equity fund – Islamic/Shariah)

Dana Makmur Pheim won 5 awards in 2019 Lipper Fund Awards from Refinitiv, being the Best Mixed Asset MYR Balanced Islamic Fund for the periods ended December 2018 as below:

  • Malaysia Islamic, 5-Year (5th consecutive year)
  • Malaysia Islamic, 10-Year (4th consecutive year)
  • Global Islamic, 5-Year (4th consecutive year)
  • Global Islamic, 10-Year (4th consecutive year)
  • Malaysia Provident, 10-Year (2nd consecutive year)

As of to date, Dana Makmur Pheim has won 38 awards of which 23 awards from Lipper Fund Awards from Refinitiv (Malaysia Islamic) and 15 awards from Lipper Fund Awards from Refinitiv (Global Islamic).

As illustrated in the table below, Dana Makmur Pheim won the Best Mixed Asset MYR Balanced Islamic Fund category under the Lipper Fund Awards from Refinitiv, consecutively over the past 5 years.
